Eurozone Finance Chiefs Concur to Bolster Greek Debt Negotiations
Eurozone finance heads decided to strengthen discussions on Greece in the succeeding days, seeking to strike a pact between the nation and global lenders on labor market and other reforms.
Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem stressed it is about time to make major decisions, providing the avenue for a broader accord with the IMF on the next phases of Greece's bailout program. All parties will meet in Brussels to discuss its debt obligation.
He added officials will have to talk over debt relief and budget surplus goals for Greece once an agreement is struck on reform steps.
ESM Managing Director Klaus Regling reiterated an accord should be reached quickly, saying numerous important issues are not yet settled and there is a threat that it could negatively impact the economy.
