On Tuesday, the Chinese retail giant AliExpress opened its first showroom in Moscow

    AliExpress (affiliated with the Alibaba group), the largest Chinese marketplace offering thousands of various goods, opened the world's first standing showroom. It appeared on September, 20 in Moscow and covers the area of 100 sq.meters at the Leningrad railway station.

    The AliExpress representative in Russia and the CIS countries Mark Zavadsky (on the photo) said that there was a good reason for locating the first showroom in Moscow, as the company considers Russia to be one of the most important sales markets. He noted that plenty of pilot projects are appropriate to be tested in Russia.

    The showroom has got quite a self-explanatory name – the Touch Pavilion. In fact, to appreciate the quality of the Chinese goods, it's not necessary to wait till you get a parcel. Instead of this, you can just come to the showroom and touch the presented brands. Overall, 42 sellers will display their goods in the store.

    Interestingly, buyers сan't make a purchase on the spot: they need to make an order through the mobile app or a special terminal.

    The brand collections presented in the showroom will be changes 3 to 12 times annually. Optionally, the renewal will be done depending on the new product appearance on the market.

    Railtelecom and the Russian Railways became the partners of the first AliExpress showrrom. The revenue is to be divided between them based on the Revenue Share model supposing that the payments are made either on a regular basis or in the percentage form depending on the certain performed actions.

The company counts on 300 people making offline purchases in the showroom daily.
