British Pound Pares Recent Highs Against Majors

The British pound pared recent highs against major currencies in New York afternoon deals on Friday. The pound that hit a new multi-month high of 1.5724 against the US dollar at about 12:10 pm ET and a new multi-week high of 0.8306 versus the euro by about 12:45 pm ET, reversed its direction, thereafter. As of now, the sterling is worth 0.8323 against the euro and 1.5696 versus the greenback.

Against its Swiss and the Japanese counterparts, the pound also traded lower from early highs of 1.6396 and 136.10, respectively. Currently, the British currency is trading at 1.6339 against the franc and 135.62 versus the yen.
