The US currency weakened in the Asian session amid this event. Meanwhile, the yen climbed as the demand for the safe-haven assets has increased.
The USD/JPY pair traded lower by 0.28% at 113.68, while AUD/USD rose by 0.35% to 0.7368 on Wednesday. The AUD/USD pair was supported by the news published today at night that Australia unveiled a new budget which includes a rise in taxation for the country's five biggest banks. Local authorities have high expectations of this measure that it will help to achieve the goals of ensuring a budget surplus and a credit rating of AAA.
