China's President Xi Jinping: China's economic growth slows down

China’s economic growth is expected to be 6.7% in 2016, Reuters reported citing China’s President Xi Jinping.
Speaking on 16 January, Xi Jinping noted that this figure is below the target level but still it is the highest among the world's largest economies. "We are confident that we can preserve stability and gradual economic growth," he added.
Citing the sources, the news agency announced that China would downgrade the forecast of GDP growth for the year 2017 to 6.5%.
China's government estimated the country's growth at 6.5-7% for 2016.
In July 2016, Reuters said that China's GDP grew 6.7% in the second quarter 2016 in comparison to the same period last year.
In the first quarter last year, China's GDP grew 6.7%, which was the lowest figure since the global financial crisis in 2009. In 2015, the economy expanded 6.9%, the weakest growth for the recent 25 years.
