Wall Street goes into raptures over Trump’s victory

While global community tries to digest results of the US presidential election, Trump’s victory cheers Wall Street up. Stock markets savor the moment, showing ardent love towards the President-elect.

New Year’ Eve is time full of miracles, and Wall Street really enjoys these moments. An atmosphere of hopes for the bright future has caused (led to) a record rally in the US stocks. Markets are eagerly anticipating that something wonderful will happen. Investors remain optimistic, displaying robust activity despite holiday lull. The Dow Jones index skyrocketed by 1,000 points, or 8 percent, beating all records. The index has been rising for five straight months in the longest post-election rally after Trump took the lead. This uptick triggered bullish trend in the market. Some experienced traders say such a jump in stock prices can reverse, as it happens usually, so one should be cautious. However, the course of events is likely to be broken this time.

The history knows only five occasions when the Dow Jones index surged by 5% for five weeks after the presidential election. On these occasions the index posted four more rises over next six months, adding about 10%. It seems that this time the index will easily eclipse the previous records.
