Healthy eaters are in panic, There is some fat in their money!

Vegans tend to protest over various issues. Even money can upset non-meat eaters. The Bank of England received piles of complaints from vegans, who found out that the bank uses animal fats during production of the new banknotes. The new polymer £5 banknote is in the center of the scandal.

The new fiver entered circulation in September 2016. Polymer banknotes are the latest innovation of money production. They are highly resistant to external influences and have a number of security features which are almost impossible to counterfeit. However, use of animal fats caused outrage among opponents of animal killings. Even the fact that the new five pound note features a portrait of the legendary Winston Churchill did not stop the UK animal lovers from nagging. The Bank of England officials immediately reacted to the complaints and promised to investigate the issue, saying that it aroused a problem that deserves the most serious attention.

It should be noted that animal fat is used in very small quantities during early production of polymer pellets from which the base substrate is made. The problem can actually get worse as the Bank of England plans to withdraw all paper money from the market. That is why it is important to be aware of all possible problems beforehand.
