Akamai Technologies, Inc. (AKAM) has officially announced its plans to acquire Noname Security, a San Jose-based company specializing in API security. The acquisition, which includes all of Noname's outstanding equity, is valued at approximately $450 million.
Mani Sundaram, the Executive VP and General Manager of Akamai Technologies' Security Technology Group, has expressed enthusiasm for the merger. Sundaram believes that Noname's incorporation will offer a range of integrations and deployment options, ultimately providing thorough API protection to customers, regardless of their environment.
In addition to the acquisition, Noname's 200-strong work force, including CEO and Co-founder Oz Golan, will be integrated into Akamai's Security Technology Group. The complete transition is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2024.
