Associated Press, citing the White House Office of the Press Secretary, revealed that James Comey left office of the FBI Director.

This initiative was proposed by US President Donald Trump. He dropped a hint of doubt that Mr Comey is able to effectively lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein advised Mr Trump to dismiss the FBI Director.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed that James Comey was fired. The details of dismissal are not disclosed yet.
