Deflation plays the same destructive role, as the Death Star in Star Wars, the Telegraph reported, citing Anthony Scaramucci.
Speaking on January 17, Anthony Scaramucci, Mr Trump’s newly appointed public liaison official, said that deflation combined with the strengthening dollar hinders economic growth, accumulates debts, and may lead to a new financial meltdown. “Two years ago I said that deflation is the Darth Vader’s Death Star for the global economy. And now it has become even bigger,” he added at the World Economic forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Mr Scaramucci said that people from working class who voted for Mr Trump, do not realize the risks linked to deflation. “My parents do not know about it. They go shopping and ask the reason why it is bad when the prices are lower. And the negative side is that we accumulate debt,” he explains.
Anthony Scaramucci considers that the implementation of Donald Trump’s economic program, which presupposes tax legislation regulation and simplification, will provide the possibility to break spiral of the debt accumulation and stimulate the economic growth.
The Death Star is a fictitious war space station from epic space opera Star Wars. It is equipped with fictional energy weapon with destructive force sufficient to destroy planets.
