European Economic News Preview: Germany Industrial Output Data Due

The key economic news to anticipate on Wednesday is the release of Germany's industrial production data, marking a rather subdued day for European economic news. Destatis, the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, is scheduled to release the industrial production data for March at 2.00am ET. Contrary to a 2.1% growth witnessed in February, the output is projected to dip by 0.6% monthly.

Additionally, the industrial output data from Norway is also set to be released around the same time. Following closely at 2.30am ET, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office will announce the preliminary industrial output data for March. In stark contrast to a 1.8% increase in February, economists are predicting that output will plunge by 5.3%.

Furthermore, Spain's statistical office, INE, is expected to release their industrial production statistics for March at 3.00am ET. At 3.30am ET, the Swedish central bank will make its monetary policy decision public. It is expected that the bank will decrease its benchmark interest rate by a quarter point to 3.75%.

Lastly, at 4.00am ET, Italy's statistical office ISTAT is due to reveal March's retail sales data. After a humble rise of 0.1% in February, economists are predicting growth to double to a 0.2% increase in sales.
