Sweden Producer Prices Fall Further

Producer prices in Sweden observed a decline for the eleventh consecutive month due to the ongoing decrease in energy-related products costs, as revealed by Statistics Sweden recently.

In March, the producer price index experienced a year-on-year drop of 0.6 percent, a slower decline compared to the 1.3 percent decrease seen in February. However, when energy-related products are not included, the annual producer price index actually saw an increase of 0.5 percent.

In the domestic market, prices went down by 0.3 percent in March. Looking specifically at energy-related goods, there was a significant decline of 6.8 percent yearly in March. On a brighter note, consumer goods prices increased by 2.5 percent, and capital goods witnessed a growth of 3.8 percent.

From a monthly perspective, there was a slight elevation of 0.6 percent in producer prices for March, following a flat trend in February. The data also revealed a yearly decrease of 0.6 percent in import prices, alongside a 1.0 percent drop in the export price index.
