Nevertheless, even Europe does not have immunity against corruption. The largest bank in the Netherlands is facing criminal investigation. Dutch prosecutors are probing the ING bank, whose managers are accused of corruption and money laundering. Indeed, it is very difficult to resist the temptation when huge amounts of money "flash" past you every day. At the same time, according to some sources in the bank, the claims of local authorities are not the only problem. ING Groep's officials received a formal request from the US authorities and that means a "serious alarm", as these people are pretty good at giving corruptionists big penalties. The bank actively cooperates with the anti-fraud agency in the framework of this case.
