Sensex, Nifty Modestly Higher In Early Trade

Indian stock markets opened slightly higher on Tuesday, reflecting positive signals from international markets as tensions between Israel and Iran appeared to be calming down.

The key S&P BSE Sensex index rose by 195 points, or 0.3 percent, to reach 73,842 in early trading, marking its third consecutive session of gains. Similarly, the wider NSE Nifty index showed an increase of 50 points, or 0.2 percent, standing at 22,387.

Several companies, including Shriram Finance, HCL Technologies, Grasim, Bajaj FinServ and Bharti Airtel, saw their share prices increase by 1 to 2 percent. On the other hand, stocks for Hindalco and Power Grid Corp dropped by around 2 percent.

Shares in Reliance Industries fell by approximately half a percent following a slight drop in net profit for the fourth quarter.

Vodafone Idea, however, saw a 4 percent surge in its share price after its additional public offer was fully subscribed.

Lastly, Hatsun Agro Products experienced a significant jump of 12.5 percent in their stock price following an impressive 109 percent year-on-year increase in their quarterly net profit.
